Minimalist kitchen installation for Andrew Corrie and Harriet Maxwell Macdonald, founders of Ochre and Canvas. Built for a seaside escape on Shelter Island, this kitchen features a custom zinc counter top, backsplash, and sink.   

Wayfair Corporate Office

A custom kitchen table and lighting rack made for the corporate offices of Wayfair, a modern home-goods retailer.  Designed by McMahon Architects, the table is a formidable 15' long and weighs over 600lbs.   Built of steel tubing with a solid sheet top, it is mounted on casters to ease in mobility.  Whetstone delivered and installed both the table and lighting rack to Wayfair's headquaters in the Boston Prudential Tower.   

Cottage Rail

A custom balcony rail built to fit this award winning rural Rhode Island cottage design.  Made in collaboration with 3SIX0 Architecture, this railing embodies the minimalist aesthetic.   Finished with a matte grey powdercoat, and installed by Whetstone with no visible hardware.

Eden Table

Taste is a multi-disciplinary design firm known for creating well-considered, finely crafted interiors for historic and coastal homes.  This steel table base was designed as part of an interior for a Rhode Island home, and features simple curves and elegant joints. The base is finished with a rich iron oxide patina. 

Bronze Bases and Elements

Working with a national furniture designer, Whetstone Workshop builds custom bronze table bases and supporting elements.   Some tables are cast from patterns made in house and sent to the foundry,  others are fabricated and welded from bronze plate. All components are machined and fitted in house . Each base is finished with a custom hand rubbed patina specific to the unique design of the piece.  Elements such as butterflies and hardware are custom made to fit with the final design.
